Henry's soccer class ended today...and finally, on the last day, he seemed to really understand the whole idea of soccer! Maybe we'll take another class this summer...
Swimming continues and he is doing wonderfully. He is really participating and is quite comfortable in the water now. I definitely credit his teacher for being the perfect mix of encouraging without forcing the kids to participate.
We tried to take full advantage of the couple of sunny days we had last week - lots of time at the park; walking, riding his bike, and playing at the playground. We also spent a day hanging out downtown - which is one of my favorite things to do and seems like Henry enjoys it just as much as I do. We just park the car at one end of town and start walking - picking up the streetcar or MAX as we go and exploring the town. He loves riding the streetcar - we'll try a bus next time. The picture of him sitting in the doorway was taken downtown while waiting for the streetcar.
This past Friday Henry and I headed up to Seattle to visit Kati and her kids. We had a blast! Henry and Daniel loved playing together...a little too much maybe...on Saturday morning Henry woke up, scooted off the bed, ran out of the bedroom yelling "Daniel! Daniel!" It was 7 am and no one else was awake yet! Whoops! They rode their bikes together and played and played and played. We also went to the zoo in Issaquah, which is where the picture of Henry sitting on the alligator statue was taken. It's a great little zoo where you can get up close to the animals. Henry got to feed llamas and deer which he loved. He was awesome in the car too - especially given that the trip up there took 5 1/2 hours! Ugh...accidents and Friday afternoon commute...but he did great!
