Preschool

Henry started preschool last week. He is attending Burlingame Cooperative Preschool two mornings a week. The first day was a little rough - he cried when he thought I'd left (I was actually just in another room), and so I ended up staying nearly the entire day. The second day was better - I still stayed for a while, but was gone for about 2 hours. I'm crossing my fingers that tomorrow I will just be able to drop him off and go. We'll see! Adding preschool to our weekly schedule has caused quite a shift in our activities and sleep habits. Henry is still doing his speech therapy and also taking gymnastics at the Little Gym...so we have a pretty busy schedule.
Coming up is Henry's 4th birthday - I can hardly believe it! His latest obsession is superheros, so I'm trying to plan his parties around that theme. He's going to have a little party with his friends at the Little Gym and also a family party at our house.

SunRiver Mini-Break

A few weeks ago we went to Sunriver...and, true to form, it's taken me until now to get the pictures off my camera. I also made a little video of some of the activities we did - the quality is poor because I had to compress the file in order for it to be within the upload limits of this website...but you get the picture. :)
We had a fantastic time. I was worried that, since it was the middle of winter, there wouldn't be enough to do to keep Henry busy; but, in fact, the opposite was true. We didn't get to do all the things we had talked about doing and could have definitely used another day (or two!) there. We stayed at the Sunriver Resort and went swimming both nights there. We also went ice skating twice and spent a half a day up at Bachelor sledding.

Basketball Class - 2012

Henry just wrapped up a 5 week basketball class at the SW Community Center. As before, he loved it although he did claim that he was "exhausted" (his word) a couple times and had to lie down on the gym floor to rest. His skills have really improved since the last class he took - he can dribble while walking, do chest passes, bounce passes, and is getting much better at shooting. He also insists on wearing his Blazer jerseys every class which is so cute. The pictures are all from his classes except for the first one, which is him at Pump it Up (a bouncy house place in Beaverton) where he is, what else?, playing basketball!

Holidays - Part 2

FINALLY! I found my memory card reader and downloaded and absolute ton of photos dating from Christmas to present.
We had a fabulous Christmas...Henry was spoiled, of course. :) Santa brought him a big fire station/police station. It's kind of like a dollhouse but a fire and police station. He loves it. He got so many wonderful gifts it would take me ages and ages to describe them all. So instead here are some pictures!

Holidays - Part 1

Here are just a couple recent holiday pictures - Henry with Santa at the Oswego Lake Country Club and Henry picking out our Christmas tree. He's had lots of fun decorating the house, picking out presents and even helping wrap a couple. He's seen Santa twice so far (tomorrow will be another visit on the Mt. Hood Railroad excursion)...and I hope that he's not too disappointed when Santa doesn't bring him what he keeps asking for - a skateboard with wheels. The wheels distinction is necessary since he currently has a skateboard without wheels. We'll see on Christmas morning, I guess!

Top Three Reasons Henry Loves the New House

3. We have a chimney. This is more of a pre-requisite that a reason he loves it. I think he would have been devastated if the new place didn't have a chimney...how else would Santa get inside?!?
2. A bathtub he can practically swim in...and with jets for bubbles!
and the number 1 reason Henry loves the new house...
BUNKBEDS! We just put together his new bunkbeds and he is loving them!

Children's Museum

A couple weeks ago Henry and I went to the Children's Museum. It had been awhile since we'd last been and the thing he remembered the most and was most excited for was the vet hospital. In fact, he kept calling the Children's Museum the Doctor Museum before we went. Of course, once we got there we headed straight to that section of the museum, but after we satisfied his doctor playtime he had just as good of a time in the grocery store, cafe, construction site, and all the other exhibits as well!
