Feeling Better

Ahh...the wonders of antibiotics! Henry, who has been on them the longest, is most definitely improved. He's got his pep back in his step and is his happy self once again. The difference in his mood is amazing. I took him to his regular storytime this week (we've been so cooped up in the house for so long, plus he's been on his meds for 4 days, so I figured it'd be alright). Here is a short video of him participating in the bop 'til you drop segment of class...hilarious! And a picture of my sweet boy with his smiley face.

Sick...once again

A plague has visited our house. Henry has either bronchitis or pneumonia (or possibly both) - a chest x-ray would determine for certain, but the doctor decided to just prescribe antibiotics. Brett has a bad case of bronchitis and is on antibiotics and an inhaler. I have a touch of walking pneumonia in one lung and a sinus infection and am on antibiotics. The good news is that the antibiotics seem to be working for Henry already (taken 4 doses) because he has totally perked up...and gone wild...which is not a ton of fun for me and Brett since we're still feeling sick. Thank goodness for Gigi who has spent a bunch of evenings over here helping with dinner, bath and bedtime. Now that Brett and I have started our medicines, I'm sure we'll be perking up soon ourselves.

Finally...an update!

Subtitled: Tennis anyone?

We are all still in the midst of a horrible cold. Hopefully we're on the mend, but from what I've heard from other people that have had this, it can last a long time.

Henry's obsession with all things sports continues. I got him a little used racket from Play it again Sports and he is now completely enthralled with practicing his tennis swing. He has been watching tennis on television and has decided that the sound the players make when hitting the ball is obviously an integral part of the swing - thusly, you can hear his grunts with every swing. Pretty hilarious.

Henry's Favorite Snack

Butter!!
Fair warning: Brett gets disgusted watching Henry eat butter...so beware if you have a sensitive stomach too!

I truly do not let him eat butter like this all the time, but he loves it so much that I do let him every now and then. Here's a still picture as well in case the video has problems again.

99 Weeks Old!

Here Henry is trying to get Wilbur to watch the Olympics... obviously Wilbur is not interested.

Olympic fever continues at our house. Henry loves to "ski jump" by putting his arms back (like a ski jumper) and launching himself off the ottoman. Hopefully one of us is there to catch him! He can say "ski jump" which is very cute. He also likes to watch the bobsledding which elicits lots of "whoa!"s from him. He is continuing to exercise his independence by telling us "No!" quite frequently and freaking out if we try to help him to do something he feels like he should be able to do himself. Unfortunately what he thinks he can do himself and what he actually can do himself don't often align. This includes wanting to be able to "hold" (or as it sounds like when he says it, "old") full cups of beverages. He loves to sign "stop" and yell "stop" at the same time to Wilbur whenever Wilbur barks or does something Henry doesn't want him to do. Wilbur is generally a good sport about this, although I can't say he obeys Henry.

Weekend Update

Eating his first hot dog on a stick. :)

Henry and Brett at the Globetrotters.

Ring-around-the-rosy at Inari's birthday party.

Seems like there's a persisting problem with the video I tried to post...I can't figure out why - maybe it will resolve itself.
We went to two second birthday parties this weekend. Both were so much fun...Henry really enjoyed himself - especially the cake! On Saturday we also went to the Harlem Globetrotters basketball game at the Rose Garden. Henry was pretty tired from the birthday party that morning, but still loved it! We had a nice family breakfast at Gigi's on Sunday with the whole crew and took Henry to the park for awhile. Then today he and I went to the zoo for the second time in a week, taking full advantage of the nice weather. Since we had just been to the zoo last Monday he fully understood where we were going when I told him this morning...or at least I thought he did, until I asked him what animals he wanted to see at the zoo and he responded "Bumpa" (meaning Grandpa Rex)! Hee hee hee!
The first picture is of Henry eating his first hot dog on a stick...from the stick (he's had them cut up before). Okay, so it wasn't actually a Hot Dog on a Stick, it was a corndog (what was I thinking?!?). Now, I realize that for most people, this would not be a remarkable milestone, but given his lineage, obviously it is for us! :)
